Howdy!
Another event is done and in the books! Titan Con was an amazing experience especially since it was our first convention we tabled at! It was special to us because of the table, but also because we both graduated from the school it was held at!
Titan Con is a college run convention that was free for the public and only required registration on Eventbrite prior to the day of the event. Despite the free access, it was quite a big convention taking up most of the student union building. The building had gone under an impressive expansion offering new locations for cosplay meetups and photoshoots. In addition to the building itself, the con goers expanded across the walkways between the buildings of the school, mingling, dancing, and having a good time.
The building itself was spacious, lending meeting rooms for panels, the underground area for a maid cafe, and the conference room for the artist alley. Immediately outside of the artist alley were the promotional booths, where we were stationed.
The convention was primarily anime-focused but welcomed other kinds of fans as well.
In terms of setting up, there wasn’t too much of a problem. I was required to register separately despite being one of two people for our table. At the beginning of the day, there were lots of people trying to get checked in and only one poor staff member! It definitely seemed a bit disorganized.
A lot of the volunteers seemed unenthusiastic manning the entrances and exits (and some were quite rude!). But it’s hard to blame college volunteers.
We met SO SO many people and it was awesome! I can’t wait for the next event!
